Timor-Leste emerged in August 1999 when 78% of the population voted for independence after passed through two different  colonization which have two different  aspect of Culture, Political, economic and social. The impact of the colonization creates controversy among the people, especially among the youth as the future to this young country. As time change, it generates and creates more multicultural society, which has a positive and negative impact and has given different vision to the youth and society of this country about the different culture which become their identity.

As a cultural organization, Le-Ziaval has a major concern of the issue of culture identity that society encounter.  Le-Ziaval has the objective to elevate Timor-Leste cultural and identity through Learning, training and make research on cultural dance, art, music and other cultural means to remind the new generation of their true identity. As a new country in a new millennium with many new discovery in technology and modern lifestyle, Timor-Leste has faced with huge identity challenge which could destroy and sever the culture and tradition which has left by the ancestors (Bei-Ala). The identity of Timorese to show respect to others and to love each other as show in this Old saying:

nu’udar  feto nian deit, na’an nian deit(as a sister and as a brother)

But, this tradition has lost because of hundreds of years under the colonization rule, and how to place back this tradition into society with (hau nian, o nian, sira nian, no ita hotu nian) “Mine, yours, theirs and ours”.
